“I Am Shocked,” says Amisha Patel

Just when stories surrounding Amisha Patel’s raging temper in Bollywood were dying down, the feisty ‘heroine’ made it to the front pages of national newspapers for her alleged bad behaviour with airport officials before boarding an Air India flight from Mumbai recently. Well known for having ‘differences’ with almost all her co-stars be it Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor etc. Patel seems to have gone a bit too far this time around as the airport officials have stated that they would question her conduct once she is back in Mumbai.

Amisha is pretty miffed with the entire episode. Says she, “Being a frequent flier I deserve at least respect as a passenger. I am shocked with what has happened. They have blown this entire issue out of proportion. All my life I have been traveling for my educational and professional reasons but have not encountered such incidents in my life. I have lived my life with dignity and don’t need to threaten people as alleged.”

The year 2006 has begun on a positive note for Amisha with her acting skills being appreciated in ‘Ankahee’ and ‘Tathastu’. Amisha Patel, who has given two of the biggest hits with ‘Gadar’ and ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’, stars are shining high with her being signed for two big banners. She is looking forward to the release of Dharmesh Darshan’s Aap ki Khatir. And Amisha seems pretty excited because she is back again with the hit combination of Akshaye Khanna and Ratan Jain, which gave the hit Humraaz and hopes to replicate the same success.

Besides this much-awaited film and Zoya Akhtar’s production ‘Honeymoon Tours Pvt Ltd’, Amisha will be making an announcement soon about her two major projects. “Just wait and watch,” she says. Amisha’s not letting this controversy affect her as she feels its been blown out of proportion and that she is paying the price for being a celebrity. She’s currently in New Jersey attending the prestigious FIA India day Parade in NY. “It’s an honour to be the grand marshal of the parade. Previous grand marshals have included Raj Kapoor, Sridevi, Govinda and superstars like Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan. I am truly honoured,” she says.
